Our tool requires a Google Gemini API key to function. This key is stored exclusively in your own browser's local storage using the Web Storage API. It is:

• Never transmitted to our servers — your key goes directly from your browser to either Google's API or our Netlify proxy function, which passes it on to Google and immediately discards it
• Never logged or recorded by AltTagsForImages.com
• Never shared with any third party by us
• Stored only on your device and deleted when you click "Remove key" or clear your browser data

4. Images You Upload or Submit

When you upload an image or submit an image URL for processing:

• Uploaded images are compressed in your browser and sent to our Netlify serverless function, which forwards them to Google's Gemini API for analysis
• We do not store your images on our servers at any point
• Image data passes through our proxy function transiently and is not logged or retained
• Image URLs you paste are sent directly from your browser to Google's API — they do not pass through our servers

5. Google AdSense and Advertising

We use Google AdSense to display advertisements on our website. Google AdSense may use cookies and web beacons to serve ads based on your prior visits to our website and other websites on the internet.
